Athletic Hall of Fame

Sweet Home Athletics has built its reputation on excellence, character, integrity, and good sportsmanship.  Student athletes, coaches, teachers, administrators and private citizens have contributed to the overall success of the Sweet Home Athletic Program.
 

The Sweet Home High School Athletic Department Hall of Fame Wall was established to recognize and honor those individuals who have brought distinction to the Sweet Home Athletic Program through their leadership, participation or support.

Eligibility

  • Student athletes are eligible 10 years after graduation.
  • The athlete must have attended Sweet Home H.S. for a minimum of two years and be a graduate of Sweet Home H.S.
  • The athlete must have conducted himself/herself in such a way as to reflect honor on the school and must have exhibited those qualities of character and standards of conduct consistent with their status as a role model to the community.
  • Coaches are eligible upon retirement from coaching.
     

Nomination Procedure

Anyone may complete a nomination form. Nominations must be received by December 20 for the upcoming school year.  All nominations will be permanently stored on file for consideration for the upcoming and future years. 

Hall of Fame Selection Committee

The Hall of Fame Selection Committee consists of members of the Physical Education Department, the Sweet Home coaching staff, and the Sweet Home Athletic Director.  Each year, the HOF Committee will award 1 senior athlete with a scholarship.

Selection Process

The Hall of Fame Committee will review all completed applications and announce the selections in the spring.  All applicants’ forms will remain on file for future consideration.  The Sweet Home Hall of Fame Committee, in conjunction with the Sweet Home Administration, reserves the right to remove any individual from the Hall of Fame for personal conduct, which reflects discredit upon the school.

Induction

The Inductees will be honored at a special ceremony hosted by the Hall of Fame Committee in the Sweet Home High School Auditorium during Homecoming week.  A plaque for each inductee will be placed on permanent display in the Sweet Home High School Athletic Wall of Fame.  Inductees and their families will be invited to be announced during the homecoming football game.
