Panther Logo Design Contest
Our new OFFICIAL Panther will be student-designed!
Why are we establishing a new Panther? As you’ve probably seen, we have a lot of different Panthers out there right now. Over time, many versions have been used. We are establishing one Panther that will be consistent and clear for everyone.
Is the 'SH' logo going away? No! We love our SH logo, but we also need a new Panther to represent our mascot well. Once established, either logo will be able to be used in an official capacity.
Is our mascot changing? Definitely not - we are Panthers for life. We just want to be effective in our branding and have one Panther to use for all applications.
Where will this logo be used? Anywhere and everywhere - think uniforms, merch, wall graphics, posters…the final design will be included in our Branding Guide and available for download to be used on all official Sweet Home designs and communication.
Who is eligible to submit a design? This contest is open to Sweet Home students of all ages.
How do I design my logo? You can be creative here! You could draw, paint, or design your logo in a software program. This contest is open to all ages, so we encourage creativity in all formats. Make sure to talk to your art teacher to get some direction and inspiration. If you aren’t currently in an art class, that’s ok. Just reach out to the art teacher in your building and they will be glad to help you.
How will the first round designs be judged? Initially, designs will be voted on by students in each building. We will narrow all submissions down to 3 high school, 3 middle school, and 1 per each elementary school (4), for a total of 10 final designs. Talk to your art teacher for more specifics.
Will the student design be the final version? After those 10 designs are selected via student vote, a graphic artist will render the student designs into professional logos. The chosen logo will be an artist rendering of the original artwork.
How will the final design be chosen? The top 10 designs, as rendered by our graphic artist, will be included on a public ballot during our Budget Vote/Board of Education election on May 20, 2025. The entire community will be voting on your designs!
Is there a prize? Yes! The artist whose design is chosen as the final winner will be awarded a scholarship from Dollars for Scholars in the amount of $500, which they will receive their senior year of high school.
How do I enter? Talk to your art teacher! They have all the details and will be collecting all submissions. The contest runs from December 16 - February 7.
