Dear Maplemere Parents & Guardians:

On behalf of the school community we wish you and your entire family a happy new year.  As we transition into the next half of the 2022-2023 school year there are a few updates we would like to share and ask of families.  

• Last Friday, January 13th, Mr. Ginestre (our Superintendent of Schools) provided a weekly update that included information about the on-going transportation crisis in our district.  The update was emailed to all families and I would highly encourage you to read the information if you have not already done so.  Transportation has been an on-going discussion during our building-use committee meetings and we hope to provide recommendations to alleviate some of these challenges to the Board of Education in the coming weeks.  If you know of anyone looking for employment, please reach out to our transportation department (716) 250-1435 to learn more about these job opportunities.  

• One of our district’s greatest strengths is its diversity.  We respect students from all backgrounds (race, culture, religion, etc.).  Additionally, we understand that many of our students have blended families and co-parenting households.  We are respectfully asking that any family that has had any legal changes in their custodial agreements, please provide us with formal documentation.  It is critical when we are releasing students to their guardians that we have updated information to ensure the safety of kids.  If you have provided us with documentation/court orders in the past, we have that on file and will make decisions about the release of students based on that information.  

• Finally, our Maplemere Experience Instructional Night has been rescheduled for Thursday January 26th.  We have had to change some of the times due to the presenters schedules, but the sessions and what families have previously signed up for will not change.  If you are interested in attending, please fill out the following form included and return by this Friday January 20th.
